Goo Goo Dolls

Listening to the Goo Goo Dolls today and I love them. Not only are they fantastic singers, but their music is original, and the lyrics actually mean something. I would sincerely suggest that you take a minute out of your day, and listen to one of their songs - I would suggest, "Iris".

One of my favourite bands of all time.

Florence and the Machine Is Amazing

Florence is an absolutely amazing singer. She really is. She has a fabulous voice range, her songs are all beautiful, and her costumes and video's are the peak of art. Plus watching her expressions and acting in the video's are fabulous.

Watching her video's are a treat in themselves, and listening to her music! It's hard to explain. I have not heard one single song of hers that I didn't like. Not one.

I love ever single song that she has sang. My favourites are, 'No Light' 'Dog Days Are Over' 'Kiss With A Fist' 'Never Let Me Go' and 'Cosmic Love'.

Everyone should at least listen to a few of her songs. Just because. It really upsets me that she isn't as big/popular in North America as she could be. It really bothers me that not talented popular teen artists get all the popularity - but when someone with a genuinely amazing voice comes along - they don't get the popularity.

Not that I think that popularity is everything. I think though that with her talent she needs more recognition. Anyway. I am going to buy all of her c.d's next time I see them - because she defines 'amazing' in the dictionary.

Footloose Review

I just finished watching the original 'Footloose' tonight and I have to say I enjoyed it. :) I am a big fan of music/dance movies, and a Kevin Bacon fan - so my opinion may be a little biased :P.

I found the acting a little corny, but that's what makes most 80's movies so likable right? ;P

The clothes and cars were also interesting. Funny - and interesting, just to see what was popular fashion wise in the mid 80's. :)

It was kind of funny for me to see a young Kevin Bacon - having watched most of his newer movies, not that I'm complaining ;)

The music was catchy, and very singable, and the dance scenes were infectious. I wanted to start trying to dance like them - even though I would fail terribly.Watching the choreography in parts was a treat in its self - and I really enjoyed the gymnastics aspect of the movie.

Okay, corny in parts, but it was a really likable movie, in my opinion - one of those 'mood-lifter' movies, that makes you smile for a while. :) Anyway, it's near the top of my 'favourite dance movies list' :) I would definitely watch it again :)
